No Roses Red
04:24
|
|||
got no diamond rings
and no pretty things
got no roses red
to lay across your bed
and to tell the truth
it’s only good for you
like you’re good for me
as far as I can see
angels I can’t see
sat down next to me
like a photograph
that’s been torn in half
I’m in disrepair
I’ve forgotten how to care
so light a path for me
across a parted sea
across a desert sand
that leads me to your hand
angels I can’t see
sat down next to me
don’t ask me to leave
‘cause I’m right where I want to be
yeah I’m right where I want to be
we are walking now
across a fertile ground
where green blades are bent
and the sky is heaven sent
chorus

I Won't Feel Well
04:55
|
|||
I’ll nail your suitcase to the floor
I’ll hide your shoes
I’ll close and lock the door
I’ll tie you down when you’re asleep
you’re the only thing I really want to keep
‘cause I won’t feel too well
if I don’t see you later
I know I’ll feel like hell
if I don’t see you later
you hang around with friends I know
but now I think it’s time for them to go
your sister called but you’re not home
well yes you are but she doesn’t need to know
‘cause I won’t feel too well
if I don’t see you later
I know I’ll feel like hell
if I don’t see you later
you’re off of work
it’s getting late and you’re not home
you know I hate to wait
I’ll hide your keys
I’ll lock the door
I’ll keep you safe
you’re what I’m living for
‘cause I won’t feel too well
if I don’t see you later
I know I’ll feel like hell
if I don’t see you later

Uncomplicated
04:31
|
|||
you put me in a sack
you’re driving me back
to the things I never really wanted
on my floor, 2 x 4’s
I’m trying to build a house that isn’t haunted
I’m dragging my chain
I’m wracking my brain
I’m trying to find a lock to put my key in
oh my God
it hit me like a log
and now I’m having problems even seeing
you gotta keep it simple
you gotta keep it uncomplicated
you put me in a hole
you’re sucking up my soul
you’re taking everything that I believe in
but now I think it’s time that I’ll be leaving
you gotta keep it simple
you gotta keep it uncomplicated
you’re twisting all the facts
you’re messing up the math
with all your answers now miscalculated
so add it up again
but starting at the end
‘cause sometimes being right is overrated
you gotta keep it simple
you gotta keep it uncomplicated

We Are History
03:26
|
|||
crossing lines left and right
even when I slept at night
time to spill some more bad blood
dragging egos through the mud
I guess we had our day
but you threw it all away
I know you’re no good for me
baby we are history
you messed with my head
to me you’re dead
words you know you can’t take back
straws are breaking camels backs
now you left your useless mark
stabbing stupid in the dark
I guess we had our day
but you threw it all away
I know you’re no good for me
baby we are history
you messed with my head
to me you’re dead
-
you messed with my head
you crept to my bed
you fucked with my head
to me we
we are history

It's All The Same
05:01
|
|||
unearthed treasures
I laid them at your feet
you’re a pretty little thing
but you left me incomplete
if you’re looking for your things
you’ll find them
they’re laying in the street
minutes passed like hours
I wanted just to hold you
now I’m this a white room
waking up from a coma
the curtain’s pulled back
but no one
knows my name
nothing here is changing
in fact it’s all the same
just remember this
God is only good
damn him if you can
but I do not think you should
there’s someone taking notes
and it’s all carved down in wood
nothing here is changing
in fact it’s all the same
come a little closer
let me whisper in your ear
all the things
I always wanted you to hear
all the things I shoulda
but never ever said
nothing here is changing
nothing here is changing
nothing here is changing
in fact it’s all the same
it’s all the same
it’s all the same

Disarray
02:56
|
|||
can you pay the price
does it cost too much
do you think she can
bend to your touch
she’s a real live wire
now she’s caught on fire
does it make you yearn
just to see her burn
when ask yourself
how did I get this way?
you’re in disarray
you’re in disarray
when the green grass
is full of shiny blades
will you watch your step
can you make the grade
when ask yourself
how did I get this way?
you’re in disarray
you’re in disarray
when the fullest moon
opens up old wounds
and the planets halt
they turn the light to salt
when ask yourself
how did I get this way?
you’re in disarray
you’re in disarray

Strand By Strand
03:25
|
|||
take me to the river it’s where I want to hold your hand
I’m giving you this key just to watch you cover it up with sand
now I’m counting every hair on your head strand by strand
you took me to the place where the soldiers marched in pairs
you took me to your favorite bar it was just a room full of stares
then you pushed me down a flight just to show me
no one cares
but in my head it’s alright
yeah in my head you’re alright
you’re driving me backwards
let me give you two helping hands
I rolled out this rug
so you have a soft place to land
now I’m counting every hair on your head strand by strand
but in my head it’s alright
yeah in my head you’re alright

The Stage
04:38
|
|||
I took to the stage
to act my age
I stood there naked
unashamed
I started to sing
and lost my sight
stayed that way for the rest of the night
now I’m trying hard
to understand
the weight of the gift
the lay of the land
sometimes this kills me
when life was a drag
I packed my bags
took the road
to soothe my soul
then shots rang out
the lights came
the air stood still
and it all got real
now I’m trying hard
to understand
the weight of the gift
the lay of the land
sometimes this kills me
I took to the stage
to act my age
I stood there naked
unashamed
I started to scream
and lost my sight
stayed that way for the rest of the night
and I’m trying hard
to understand
the weight of the gift
the lay of the land
sometimes this kills me

On The Floor
02:32
|
|||
You
came up to me
you asked me for the time
but I had someone to see
I
walked towards the door
you sprung without a sound
and you knocked me to the floor
now I can’t get my back off the ground
well
that’s how things go
you’re dragging through the mud
with someone you used to know
please
don’t scratch and fight
just give me one more day
and I’ll try to make it right
but I can’t get my back off the ground
oh
tell me what’s it’s for
then
meet me on the floor
hey
what’s your name?
you brought your balls and chains
and I’m ready for your game
say
you’ll stay the night
I’ve got nowhere to go
and I’m gonna treat you right
‘til you can’t get your back off the ground
oh
tell me what’s it’s for
then
meet me on the floor

Held Onto Almost
08:58
|
|||
I held onto
almost
nothing
it pulled me through
almost
everything
I hoped that one day
my
eyes
would be filled with
wonder
again
it’s in my hands
like so much sand
it’s falling through
and so are you
by my side
a million
miles away
your face and hands had
a thousand
things to say
your lips started moving
sadly
away from mine
I thought of something to say
it wasn’t kind
it’s in your hands
like so much sand
I’m falling through
and so are you
