This release is one of the limited edition “Return to Sender” series cd’s that were released by Normal Records. I was doing a lot of home recording around this time (2002) on my digital eight track recorder and I was exploring multi-track song demos. Soon I had a collection of songs that were pretty fleshed out with an electronic drum beat, guitars - acoustic and electric, keys and vocals. My drummer Brandon Laws heard the demos and told me he wanted to take the recordings and play live drums to them in his rehearsal studio which he did and the results are awesome! After that Ed Kampwirth added some bass and Jesse Wilder contributed some electric guitar and vocals here and there. This is a real DIY recording, a hybrid of home recording and low budget studio (rehearsal room) recording and it’s one of my favorite records to listen to. I was listening to a lot of Sparklehorse at the time and I decided to try those lo-fi segues between songs that he did.. another new departure for me. All in all I think this record has some strong songs, it’s rough and playful, naughty and nice, loud and quiet too - check it out!

Singer-songwriter originally from Tucson, Arizona now based in Southern Germany. Played keyboards with Los Angeles "Paisley Underground" band Green On Red. Spent some time with Giant Sand and is currently the fifth member of The Dream Syndicate.
